Linda Faye Pickens was born and raised in Anderson, SC. She is the daughter of Fred Pickens and Lena Davis and the mother of one son, Dominic Richardson. After 15 years of military service, Ms. Pickens returned home in August 2002 and was deeply saddened learning of family, friends and acquaintances living and dying in addiction.
In late 2004, Ms. Pickens was divinely inspired to facilitate the recovery of the suffering addict and made her home a facility to embrace the Christ-centered approach to addiction recovery.
Linda founded The Potter's House Restoration Ministries. She is a Faith Community Nurse. This is the specialized practice of nursing that focuses on the intentional care of the spirit. The philosophy of The Potter's House is that addiction is tied to a person’s level of wellness of the inner self and that inner self is where the spirit resides. A wholistic approach is used to successfully re-integrate individuals into the community. The Potter’s House draws on resources both within and beyond the faith community to provide:
1) A structured, substance free, spiritually centered environment
2) Spiritual awakening and spiritual mentoring
3) Evidence based recovery dynamics and relapse prevention program
4) Vocational guidance and counseling
5) Healthcare education
6) Life skills training
7) Community resource referrals
8) Other comprehensive transitional services
